INFRARAIL 2001, after three successful shows in Manchester this year was held at the Wembley Exhibition Centre.
This move was generated by the growing demand for stand space from companies wishing to participate in the only
UK exhibition dedicated to the technology and expertise needed to deliver and maintain safe, high-performance railway
systems.
The show attracted professionals from 42 countries including Central and east Asia, Africa, Australasia and North
America. Initial analysis revels that 4,300 visitors attended the event, 20 per cent representing infrastructure
services, 10 per cent authorities and a further 20 per cent representing equipment manufacturers.
Camlok had a very successful show introducing new developments and gathering vital feedback from the end users
of our equipment. The show generated many exciting sales leads and allowed our staff to meet new and old clients
face to face, further strengthening our business relationships.
The INFRARAIL 2001 programme of half-day seminars, took as its theme "Development in the Railway Industry".
Leading speakers addressed vital issues facing the railway professionals, including, the wheel/rail interface and
human resourcing /skills shortages. The programme was organised by the Transport Board of the Institution of Civil
Engineers in association with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers
and the Railway Civil Engineers' Association. Other events included a European Networking Day, organised by Trade
Partners UK to assist exporters targeting markets in northern and southern Europe.
