SAFETY, EVERYBODY'S JOB
PAY THE PRICE OR OTHERS MIGHT

Gone are the days when you could throw a piece of rope around a load and hope that it holds or so you would think. Taking shortcuts, crossing your fingers and hopping for the best just isn't good enough when people's lives are at risk. In just one September week this year across the country eight people where killed in construction related accidents. Six men one woman and a child died, five where construction workers and three where members of the public. Between 2000 and 2001 114 people where killed in the construction industry showing that this industry holds one of the worst safety records of any sector. The Health and Safety Executive is investigating all of these deaths and is now targeting construction with renewed vigour.

At Camlok we believe that accidents caused by unsafe handling of materials can be easily avoided. There is equipment already on the market that is specifically designed to safely lift, transport and position construction materials and if people are unsure what equipment they need the solution is simple. Camlok has designed a quick reference guide and a series of industry specific catalogues which indicate the correct application for the lifting of loads. The Camlok website has all the technical specifications required to make an informed choice of lifting product and our technical and sales staff are always at hand to offer advice and assistance. If we don't have a product for a particular application then we will design one specifically.

Putting of investing in safe handling equipment might cost you Financially  when the Health and Safety Executive pay a visit but that's nothing compared to the price paid by those who die each year in this industry due to unsafe working practises.
